Program overview
The course is aimed at people currently working or wanting to work as a manager of Security Operations or as a Risk Consultant. This qualification is now a requirement for accreditation of the Master Security Licence in NSW and is accepted as a benchmark for security management.
In preparing this program outline Beltin has regard to the expressed needs of a professional with a role or involvement in security advice, supervision and management.
The trainers for this course come from corporate security, military and policing backgrounds. They have worked very closely with the industry including those affected by the industry to deliver a program that is valued for its currency and credibility. Industry feedback is very important - for this reason we encourage you to participate in the knowledge centre.

Apart from working towards a nationally recognised qualification, Participants will be increasing their skills and knowledge in the security industry as a whole.
Delivery
This program is delivered over fifteen (15) weeks this includes: distance education, and workshop delivery over that period. Assessment is included in this period to achieve qualification. There is one, three (3) day workshop and one, two (2) day workshop within the program, complimented by a final two day assessment workshop that rewards the participant by assessing their solutions against the facilitators in a final desktop activity.
Assessment Strategy
To achieve this qualification the candidate must have demonstrated competency against all 8 core units plus 4 elective units. Up to two of the required four electives may be selected from other relevant endorsed Training Package qualifications aligned at the Diploma level.
Each unit has a series of tasks for participants to complete. These tasks are based on participants solving possible real life problems that occur as part of working in the security industry. Participants leave this course with a professional portfolio of assessed works to act as a professional resource guide.
Flexible Learning and Assessment
The strategy incorporates a blended learning. This is a combination of multiple approaches to learning using virtual and physical resources such as the technology based online toolbox, face to face sessions and practical delivery. This enables participants to follow a learning path of their choice whether they choose to read material and then complete the activity sheets or vice versa.
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
In competency-based training, you are not expected to repeat training for competencies, which you already possess. In accordance with national VET policy, RPL will be available to you when you enroll in a Beltin Group qualification. Please note that RPL will not be granted for partial units of competency. RPL will be granted only where sufficient evidence is provided of competence for an entire Unit of Competency. Should you wish to apply for RPL please complete our Application Form for RPL (Participant Handbook; p19) and arrange an RPL interview with your Course Coordinator.

COURSE CONDUCT
All courses are professionally facilitated including practical application of skills in an engaging forum. All participants receive a workbook to complement the learning of the program and to retain as a reference source. Specialist courses often include specialist equipment packs on successful completion of the course.
Course times are generally 9am to 4:30pm, with coffee and tea served from 8:30am each morning. Refreshments and lunch are included in all course costs.

Qualification of this course is achieved through a demonstrated understanding of broad knowledge base incorporating theoretical concepts in substantial depth. Analyse and plan approaches to technical problems or management requirements. Transfer and apply theoretical concepts and/or technical or creative skills to a range of situations.
